The Poodle's intelligence, quick learning ability, sensitivity and adaptability are just a few words to describe the true essence of a Poodle. These intelligent animals are easy to train, a good family dog, good with children and watchdog with training. Their ability to connect with humans make them a great companion. Toy Poodles are loving, charming, smart and clever, with personality to match.

A Toy can be trimmed to suit your preference and you can always change your mind. Poodles do shed, but the hair stays in their coat and must be brushed out regularly... if this is not done you will end-up with a very messy matted poch. Poodles do not have dander or smell if given the basics care of brushing, regular trimming and bathing.
All Poodle need to chew on something while their teeth and jaws are developing...it helps with cutting the puppy teeth, to induce growth of the permanent teeth, and helps in normal jaw development. Nylabone is highly recommended by veterinarians as a safe, healthy nylon bone that can't splinter or chip. Also, nylon does not support the growth of microorganisms. They can be sterilized by boiling or washing with soap and water. Nylabone is superior to the cheaper bones because it is made of virgin nylon. Also the chemistry of the nylon is such that they break down in the stomach fluids and pass through without effect. As the nylabone is frizzled by the dog's chewing action, creating a toothbrush-like surface that massages the gums and cleanses the teeth...as your toothbrush does for you. Other great toys are Nylabone products, such as Hercules, Nylaring and Gumabone Frisbees and Pooch Pacifiers...they are fun safe chew toys that most Poodles can enjoy and there is no toothwear. The reason being because nylon is nonabrasive. For older dogs it exercises the jaw and helps relieve periodic doggie tensions. Never give fish, chicken or pork bones to your dog. A bored Poodle can do a great deal of damage.
They need a responsible owner who can give them a safe place to live, lots and lots of love, exercise and training. The new owner needs to beable to make a lifetime commitment to the welfare of their dog. As part of your family, they will guard your family and your property. However, they will not respond well to a mean hand and it well keep them from being the great pet you are looking for.
